Dwr Anafon is the charity set up to distribute the disposable profits from the Ynni Anafon Energy scheme for community benefit.  In 2018/19 this was £30,000. 

The charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with a board of trustees who allocate grants for appropriate projects.

The trustees of the charity will consider applications for grants for a wide range of projects.  In 2017 to 2019 this was confined to projects within the village of Abergwyngregyn.  The residents of the neighbouring village of Llanfairfechan will be able to apply for grants from January 2020. 

Although in its infancy, the charity has already provided funds for:

• A defibrillator, installed at Yr Hen Felin, in the middle of the village
• Help to relocate the village war memorial
• An energy saving consultant to carry surveys for homes within the village
• Tai Chi classes for the benefit of local residents.
