Abergwyngregyn is a small, picturesque village nestling in a valley at the northern edge of the Carneddau mountain range. It is located at Junction 13 of the A55, between Bangor and Llanfairfechan. With views across the Menai Straits towards Beaumaris, Penmon and Puffin Island, and a walk to the impressive Aber Falls starting from the village, it is a beautiful place for both locals and those wishing to visit this part of the North Wales Coast.
Abergwyngregyn has a long and interesting history, but is also a thriving village which looks to the future as well as to the past. Anafon Hydro, a recently installed hydro electric energy scheme is community owned and run, and is providing power to the national grid. The money raised is benefiting both shareholders and local charity projects.
